SUPER BLOWER [Posted on 2007-08-01] The blower does put out a strong air stream. It has worked extremely well. Fairly light and easy to use. Haven't tried the vacuum. It sucks so hard that if you you get it too close to your pants it will try to suck them in.
I likes me Toro 51591 [Posted on 2007-11-23] I have this model. I bought it on Amazon last leaf-raking season to quickly replace my 10-year-old Toro 51582, so it's made it through 2 fall's.
There are a few nagging little design flaws (the bag never seems to "hang" any place where it's not just as easy to drag it!), I think this is a good tool for the money spent.
This one's a little more powerful than my first one. I have a walnut tree that tosses off little "twigs" -- not sticks and not leaves. They tended to clog up my first Toro. The 51591 sucks 'em up and mulches 'em a lot better.
All in all -- I'd have to say this item REALLY SUCKS!!!
Motor doesn't motor [Posted on 2008-04-30] The plastic tab on the bottom guard broke off, so it won't engage the safety switch, which means the blower won't work at all, without the replacement part. I'm going to try superglue, which might work for a few minutes.
I expected better from Toro. Never tried the vacuum feature.
100' extension cord is heavy! [Posted on 2008-06-14] It works great. Downside is I need a 100' extension cord to reach to the edge of my yard. I found after a while that it is a pain to get out a 100' cord and especially to put it away again.
Burned up after a season [Posted on 2008-06-22] Worked great the first season. Second season I was blowing some dirt off my driveway and it started to slow down then I started to smell electrical smoke. Of course, a year later I didn't have my receipt any longer so this turned out to be just a big paper weight. Disappointing for a a Toro product.
