Great performance - not a blow hard (although it does) [Posted on 2007-01-29] Overall: Excellent value. A lot of performance for a good price.
Pro's:
1. When following the included instructions the blower is easy to start.
2. It has very good power - I have a lot of leaves and it was able to move large piles.
Con's:
1. No idle trigger (constant speed), when moving around you must aim it vertically to not accidently blow leaves the wrong way (you get used to this).
2. After a couple hours of use, the weight and vibration can get to you - it would be nice to have a shoulder strap.
Troy Bilt Gas Blower Really Blows [Posted on 2007-03-19] I am a 57 year old grandmother with an acre of land covered with redwood leaves. My new troy bilt blower is not too heavy (although loud enough for me to use earplugs while using it) and its differing speeds helps to clear the pathways and assure the leaves end up in neat piles. I was able to cover the entire gravel path of my acre lot with less than one application of gasoline. I love my new blower!!!
Service center can't get parts. [Posted on 2007-05-03] I purchased leaf blower and it worked well until the 3rd tank of fuel. The starter assembly broke and I was no longer able to start the unit. Blower was taken to an authorized service center for repair on March 13, 2007 and the unit is still there as of May 3, 2007. The service center cannot get the needed $3.00 replacement part. It is summer and I need the blower. Troy-Bilt must not be interested in repeat business. Buy another brand as the warranty is no good without the availability of replacement parts. **Update** I got my blower back on 05/29/07. It was down from 03/13/07 until 05/29/07. Can you do without your equipment that long during the mowing season? Do yourself a favor and consider another brand.
No Longer supported by company [Posted on 2007-06-15] This blower worked great for several months. Perfect for the driveway, etc. Then the pull-start broke. I searched on-line for the parts (it's a simple fix), only to find that they are no longer available. I called Troy-Bilt directly. They have switched manufacturers (in Mexico), and can no longer get parts for this unit. Stay away!!!!
Mostly harmless [Posted on 2008-10-07] It is fussy about having fresh gas - won't start on fuel that runs fine in my other 2-stroke machines. Also, the speed knob vibrated off and was lost the first time I used it, and the starter rope broke the third time I used it. It blows leaves just fine if you can get it going.
