Great holding devices with lots of options to clamp wood. From edge gluing to securin wood for routing and sanding. the entire top is available for sanding since the clamp are lower than the top edge. I extended the clamped wood over the table edge to provide access to the length of the boards. a terrific value...

Anyone who has ever needed a straight edge clamped to their work to guide their cutting with a power hand saw will love this item. Regardless if you use as a cutting guide, straight edge for marking, or a clamp, this product is excellent. Precision engineering and top quality manufacturing make this an outstanding addition to any workshop. Tip: If you purchase the Back-To-Back clamp you get 2 identical clamps held together with adapters. Remove the adapters and you have 2 clamps (best way to buy and save money). Purchased both the 37 inch and the 50 inch Back-To-Back models plus the 100 inch ultra-wide (a really heavy-duty model) for 8 foot paneling/plywood/etc. Received the 100 inch with a broken piece. Called Woodline and they immediately shipped replacement parts. Excellent product and company.

Good Product - Bad Seller - Damaged Product Everytime! [Posted on 2008-02-08]
Three times this product arrived with damaged or missing parts. It was obviously opened, used, and poorly resealed. Detachable parts were loose. Attached plastic parts were broken. Anodizing was chewed up in places. No insulative packaging whatsoever. Stay away from this dealer.

I bought two, both as described above. I shipped them back for a replacement. The replacement was the same as above. Finally I requested a refund.

I eventually bought them outside of Amazon from Peachtree Woodworking. Completely different experience. All parts were attached and intact. Product was packaged with cushioning and shrink wrapped like new.

This review is for the 50" clamps. I have also bought the 37" clamps from Woodline. These arrived with minor damage and the detachable parts were loose. Take your chances!

Not what I expected.... [Posted on 2008-08-12]
You might assume that the clamps you are about to purchase are those pictured in the gallery, but you would be mistaken - as was I. The picture that was provided is the ProGrip brand of the same clamp. Additionally, the pictures provided do not accurately portray how these clamps work. My suggestion is to go to the peachtree website and look at the diagrams and instructions....as the product you purchase from amazon will not have instructions of any sort.

As described in a prior review, the set of "back to back clamps" is basically two straight edge clamps with an adapter that allows them to be fastened down to a worktable. One of the clamps is used to hold the work down and the other is used to grip the worktable surface. When used in this fashion your "set" is really just one half of a set - i.e. just one side (left or right it makes no difference). In order to use the clamps as shown in the picture, you will need to order two full sets of the "back to back" clamps. This obviously makes a substantial cost difference.

After having said all of that, this is a nicely made product. Like my other Woodline products, this is a nicely made product at a value price. It can also be used as a saw or router guide, as it has a very nice straight edge. Progrip offers several adapters to get more use out of these clamps: A hold-down kit, a fence kit, a stop block, a feather board kit, etc. Woodline may offer some of these extra features as well, but their website is disappointing at best. With no pictures and limited descriptions, it is impossible for a customer to know what they are ordering. If you are planning to buy several Woodline USA WL-5183 ProGrip 37-Inch Professional Clamps, get the "back to back" set because it is basically two WL-5183's and the back to back adapters for less money.
