I have yet to actually use the item, but I can tell you it is obvious it is going to work and work well. Using it with just the operation by my fingers, shows the idea to be rather ingenious yet simple. I have no doubt it will
work. I will be changing my oil in a couple of weeks.
Update: It worked well. However, you must hold the item up on the filter while you work the ratchet in order to get it to "bite" onto the filter. Keeping the ratchet pressure on, remove your hand and turn to unscrew the filter. One moved, you can remove with your hand. Using a ratchet extension bar lets you get well up into hard spots. As long as there is room for your hand to hold the tool temporarily on the filter, it works very well.

The reviewer who had to go out and buy an adapter wasted his money. The wrench is built for 3/8" and includes the adapter for other sizes. Works fine.

I bought a used 2004 Fleetwood Bounder "Class A" RV with only 6,000 miles. My filters are quite accessable but had not been changed by the original owner. I tried (and deformed) every type of "strap style" wrench I could find. I connected my breaker bar to this puppy and it popped the oil and transmission filters (2 different sizes) free with minimal effort. It now resides in my maintence storage compartment of my coach. Don't leave home without it!

If you only posess a 3/8-inch socket wrench set, fear not.....DON'T buy an adapter! Simply pull the chrome "nut" from the filter wrench, and voila!...there is a perfect 3/8" hole for your socket wrench or extension. They wouldn't design something that you'd have to purchase an adapter for, please!
The wrench works great, on any size oil filter, in any location no matter how difficult to access. Sure helped lower my blood pressure!

I ordered this oil filter wrench because my '04 CR-V has a very small diameter oil filter which is very difficult to reach. The wrench I had purchased for the aftermarket filter did not work on the Honda brand which led me to have to run a screwdriver through the filter to get it off. I immediately began looking for a better wrench that would work on multiple size filters. This is the wrench I was dreaming about. From an engineering perspective, this should do it all. I will find out when I do my next oil change and fully expect to give this 5 stars. I only give it 3 now since I haven't used it.
