Nice, with caveats [Posted on 2007-01-11]
It's a good ladder, certainly as rigid and strong as a Type 1A 300# rating ladder should be, BUT - It's heavy, kinda too heavy for my wife to deploy and use, although I'm OK with it. If had to do over, I'd probably buy the lighter, lower rated Type 2 unit, which is still good for 225#. I also have some concerns about the small ground contact area. This could lead to accidental "kicking out" of the ladder. This is something that Consumer Reports noted when they tested ladders recently and thus gave the ladder a "Not Acceptable" rating. I knew this before I bought, and bought anyway. I will keep a mental note to watch out for that potential hazard.

This ladder is a wonderful addition to the household. It is so lightweight and handy. No more struggling with awkward full length ladders. Now I just set the ladder to the exact height, position it against the wall and climb. No worrying about slipping on shiny floors -- the rubber feet hold the ladder firmly in place. This is great product for home or work.
