It works.... [Posted on 2007-05-29]
The mice were outsmarting the glue traps in my apartment. I put a pea-sized ball of peanut butter in the server cup and have caught 2 mice so far.

too good to be truly good [Posted on 2008-03-01]
This is the ultimate killing machine. They have no chance; this is a case of "the house always wins." It IS the better mousetrap that others have talked about for so long. Like a juggernaut, it will cut a swath through your mouse population. On the one hand, it seems like a simple old fashioned trap like the Victor only with a cover, sort of like one of those crazy British motorcycles with the full fairing made in the 1960s. But this is not merely a cosmetic matter--the cover protects against accidental triggers, and it is incredibly easy to set.

It doesn't seem right that it could be this easy. But it is. They keep coming back and back again. Each time you set this trap, you can be sure that G-d will provide the sacrificial mouse. And so even though it doesn't seem right, who are we to argue with His decisions? [27]

Only Damn Thing that works! [Posted on 2008-04-09]
I've lived in Filthadelphia for quite some time, where even the nicest renovated homes present rodent challenges. I've tried NUMEROUS methods, and the d-Con Ultra set is the only worthwhile product that always is sold-out in stores so we buy online.

one winter my roomates and I kept a cartoon-like BODYCOUNT on the refrigerator. With 3 traps we killed 13 mice total that winter!

Though these are technically reusable, now that I essentially live alone I am too creeped out by the corpses so I just throw them out. Hey, it's still cheaper than pest control service.

If you share a home with mice, I guarantee you will catch one overnight!

Good but not perfect [Posted on 2008-07-05]
These traps are excellent for preventing exposure (and sight) of captured rodents. The only drawback is that the trip mechanism is inconsistent - I have had several traps where the mouse has "beaten" me by getting the bait without ever setting off the trap. The piece of plastic that holds the bar in place is too big, and even pressing on it with a stick won't release the trap. I've fixed these by myself by modifying the trap a little, but it seems a little more quality control would go a long way. Otherwise a much better way of catching mice than a typical trap or glue.
